Dr Takos attended New York University College of Dentistry on a full scholarship by scoring in the top 1% in the US on his dental entrance examination. Upon his graduation in 1993 Dr Takos was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor society, an honor reserved for the top 5% of all dental graduates in the United States. Dr. Takos then went on to a one year General Practice Residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn where he refined his clinical skills and trained in Emergency Dentistry as well as Facial Trauma and Facial reconstructive Surgery.

Takos is well on his way to attaining his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, an award requiring 1100 hours of continuing education with 400 of those hours in hands on training in all the disciplines of dentistry.
